- Contact details you provide: If you email yourself a transcript, contact support, or make a purchase, we receive the email address and related request details needed to fulfill that action.
- Payment data: Stripe processes paid-letter transactions. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Operational data: We may collect basic logs, device/browser metadata, and analytics needed to run, secure, and improve the service.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide chat answers, citations, and letter-generation workflows.
- Retrieve and rank relevant statutes and ordinances.
- Process payments and send transactional communications.
- Prevent abuse, debug failures, and measure product performance.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
3. Where Your Data Lives
Public chat history is generally stored in your own browser. When you request a transcript, generate or unlock a letter, or use another server-backed workflow, the relevant request data and generated output may also be stored on our servers so we can complete the transaction and support the feature.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Gemini: Used to generate chat and document content from the prompts and context we send.
- Voyage AI: Used for embeddings that help match your question to relevant statutes.
- Supabase: Hosts our database and related backend infrastructure.
- Stripe: Processes paid-letter transactions.
- Vercel Analytics: Provides product analytics about site usage and performance.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use local browser storage to keep conversation history on your device. We may also use essential cookies or similar storage for site operation and analytics. We do not sell your personal information or run advertising trackers based on your chat content.
6. Retention
- Browser-saved conversation history stays on your device until you clear it or your browser removes it.
- Server-side records tied to transcripts, paid letters, support, or payments are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for operations, disputes, compliance, and fraud prevention.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect data, including encrypted connections and restricted backend access. No system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices
- Clear browser-stored chat history directly from your device.
- Choose not to use transcript or paid-letter workflows.
- Contact us if you want us to review or delete server-stored information you provided to us directly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page.
